Today woke to a chilly 2' and a decent frost. Driving to Tours (via Troyes) for the Easter weekend- about 3.5 hour drive through the Loire valley and the champagne region. Stopped in Troyes for a look and some coffee with a cafe eclair. The town is incredible. The buildings look like they are all about to fall over! The cathedral has more gargoyles than I have ever seen, must have been one on every corner! The stained glass windows are unbelievable and best of all it cost nothing to have a look! It seems entry to the cathedral's are generally free here. Maybe the Italians could follow this idea. Arrived at my Airbnb in Tours late this afternoon and spent a while trying to park my car in the garage which is about the size of a postage stamp. Tonight I am having tartare de beouf for dinner.
Btw Was telling Chuckles that the spring crops here look great except for the canola, which is really patchy. Was wondering if it is because the EC has banned the use of seed treatments?
Bit of a lean there
