I'm Back!

Three days without internet and much to blog about!. I left Porto early Wednesday for the 2 hour coastal drive south to Ajaccio - the capital of Corsica and also the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte (but more about that in my next blog!) Today I accomplished something I've never done before. After I returned my vehicle to the airport I had to get back to town using the most complicated public transport payment system ever invented! First you had to download the App, then somehow link the App to a payment schedule, then you had to send a SMS to somewhere to let someone know you wanted to buy a ticket, then once you had received back an SMS you had to follow this link to load the ticket onto your phone. The ticket is valid for only 1 hour so if you do this too early the ticket expires. Too late and you miss the bus - which is what happened to a bunch of new age millennial's also at the bus stop!! Interesting fact about Ajaccio - it was the first French town to be liberated from the Germans in WW2.
