It's like an airport duty free shopping centre surrounded by mountains

Andorra is a landlocked country in the Pyrenees mountain range between Spain and France. It is one of the smallest countries in Europe, occupying approximately 468 square kilometres, which is all gigantic mountains up to 2900m and has the highest capital city in Europe. It is also a tax haven where you can buy a litre of gin for E15. It is also very Catalan (it's their sole official language) so most of the older people are quite rude! especially to english speakers. The tax rate is 10%, the roads are perfect (I even saw them painting road lines using masking tape), the walks are breathtaking especially when gasping for air at the higher altitudes! petrol is nearly half the price to the rest of Europe and did I mention you can buy gin for 15 Euro! There is not much to do here except walk and shop. (80% of Andorra's GDP comes from tourism - mainly skiing). So I have spent my time here doing some pretty incredible hikes. But be warned there are a few negatives. Your European SIM card will not work here - meaning you have to queue at the one shop that sells Andorran SIM cards (Andorra telecom) if you want to use your phone for maps, which is a little necessary when hiking. Also because their tax revenue is so small, it seems every scenic road has a fee collection point (especially the parks) and I have yet to find any free parking in the city! But the good news is my stay here does not count under the Schengen rule (Andorra is not a member of the EC).
