On the way home

From the moment I left Sydney in February I have had the most amazing time, met some wonderful people, seen some incredible sights (and some not so incredible thanks to Atlas Obscura!). I have written over 110 posts on my Blog. The last few weeks in the Arctic has been one of the best things I have ever done. Malta, Sicily, France, UK, Belgium, Netherlands (briefly), Germany, Denmark, Sweden & Norway. Can't wait to come back - (except for Sweden). Lost weight and put it all back on again on Scenic Eclipse. Spent time with M&S in London and at Bushes Farm, planted trees & dug huge holes, So enjoyed being with Alice and Angel and watching them at work and having breakfast and lunches together - 650 miles from the North Pole. I've seen seals, whales, birds, porpoises and reindeer (but no polar bears except dead ones!). Climbed hills, drove for hours at 100 mph, jumped into freezing water with Nick (I am the one on the left!). Walked 27km in one day and got waved at by King Charles. I have eaten pancreas, kidneys, livers, reindeer, white asparagus, venison, raw meats, schnitzel, sausages, pork knuckles, and some other stuff that was interesting. Drank some fantastic beers, especially in Belgium. Stayed in pubs, hotels, B&Bs and AirBnb's. Some were great and some terrible, but managed to avoid bed bugs. Worn out 3 pairs of socks. Drove 10,000km in a variety of cars including the MG in the UK that had no brakes. Visited cathedrals, castles, chalets, prisons, Colditz, museums and tiny churches (one with a devil's footprint). Couldn't make any sense about Germany until I visited the Stassi prison! I have taken over 2,000 photos for a slide night. I set out just to travel, aimlessly and just observe life! Now to plan the next trip!!
