Loose in Toulouse!

Updated: Jul 3

Today I visited Aeroscopia, the official Airbus Museum in Toulouse and home to 2 Concords and an A380, as well as a massive display on the history of aviation and my favourite the super Guppy! (Apologies no internet last night - What is it with hotels that promise 4 stars and can't even arrange decent wifi!). It was kind of sad to leave Le Patio after 8 days - my favourite BnB in France. After a night of laughs with Paul and Nicola (my hosts) and bingeing on a wheel of Trappe cheese made with walnut liqueur from the nuns in Echourgnac, I said goodbye and made my way to Toulouse the capital of France’s southern Occitanie region, known as La Ville Rose (‘The Pink City’) due to the terra-cotta bricks used in many of its buildings, and Frances 4th largest city. I wished I had allowed more than one day to explore - (although there were a huge number of homeless on the streets which I was told is a result of the Olympics in Paris). Anyhow, this morning I made my way to the Airbus museum and it was fantastic! Some of the planes on display, including the A380, had transparent panels in the floor and walls so you could see what was hidden in the planes we fly, Maybe I wish I hadn't seen it!

From Toulouse I drove the 3 1/2 hours to Andorra a tiny, independent principality situated between France and Spain in the Pyrenees mountains. It’s known for its ski resorts and a tax-haven status that encourages duty-free shopping. To me it seemed just like a big duty free airport shop surrounded by beautiful mountains. The Principality has one of the lowest tax rates in Europe with the personal income tax is 0—10%, and the corporate tax on companies' profits is 10%. However be warned - Your sim card does not work in this country. Tomorrow I'm hoping to walk the Valle de Incles - Supposedly the most beautiful valley in Europe.
