Well another 17K steps and 12km today (on top of the 22K steps and 17km yesterday)- Pretty sure there is not much left to see in this town. Disappointed to find that the Centre d'histoire de la résistance et de la déportation museum was closed, especially as today was Anzac Day (and I did walk 5km through a pretty ordinary part of town to get there). Never mind - I visited this museum many years ago and at the time it seemed to be an advertisement for the vichy (the collaborationist regime established by the Nazi's). It's now in new premises (the old Gestapo headquarters from WW2) and my limited research tells that me that the story of the resistance and de Gaulle is told more openly now. Anyhow that's about all for Lyon. I did manage to get to the Les Halles de Lyon (markets) - where I got some nice cabbage salad and veal chops for dinner and was pretty impressed by the glaze fruits. Tomorrow I head north again.
