Arrived this afternoon in the tiny town of Molina which kind of feels like a Chilean version of Trangie. It’s the centre of a wine and fruit growing area, about 3 hours south of Santiago. It’s not that far from Argentina on the other side of the Andes (weather permitting).

I am sure I am the only Australian in town - possibly forever! as this place is very rural Chile. Went to a local restaurant and they didn’t have an english menu, but it didn’t matter as (thanks to Google translate) I was able to order the Plateada. A cut of beef slowed cooked in wine that the chef called the animals armpit (I think)! It was accompanied by chips with my new favourite spice merken. (pictured below for 1000 peso!). Of course the place I am staying in is surrounded by barking dogs! The attractiveness of this town is its proximity to the Andes and it's waterfalls and national parks, which I won't have time to see, but I really enjoyed just a wander through its streets and the town square with it's sequoia trees. BTW the dinner was delicious!
