Update on my travels - (Before I leave again for Europe!)

Well, it's nearly time to pack my bag (carry on only!) for my next European adventure. So a quick update on my travels since I arrived home. Last November I hopped over the ditch for a New Zealand South Island road trip with the Fennels. Windy Wellington was the first stop and it's been 52 years since I was last there. (A school excursion in 6th grade). Wellington is a great city and a must see location is the Te Papa Museum on the waterfront. On display was the world's largest complete colossal squid - its eyes are the size of a soccer ball. After a few days in Wellington we took the car ferry to Picton through some magnificent Fjords and eventually arrived at our accomodation located at Grovetown in the middle of a vineyard. Spent a few days visiting the wineries of Marlborough (including John Forrest Wines). The scenery was spectacular but the wines were not that great! The food in Blenheim was outstanding - in fact every meal we had in NZ was amazing. We then drove to Kaikoura for our anticipated sighting of sperm wales. But on the way there, we took a detour to Ward Beach, where the sea bed rose by 2m during an earthquake in 2016. You get to see what the seabed looks like without getting wet. Kaikoura has incredible scenery, and made our caravan park accomodation seem not so bad. I've attached some pics below of our first week.
