When is a No:4 not a number 4?

My last day in Berlin and it was spent getting ready for the trip north to Oslo. So today it was a haircut, clothes washing and planning day. But I now know how Chuckles and Al Kellaway feel, as I asked for a no:4 haircut but I think something got lost in translation. Anyhow it should grow back eventually. I guess the Germans have had plenty of practise shaving heads. But Berlin has been a great city to visit. The history of this place is intriguing so I will post a seperate blog with how I see that, and let this blog focus on my Flaneur activities! Yesterday I made the trip out to see the '36 Olympic site. (Thanks for the tip Helen G.) It was an amazing venue, full of history, but I was left wondering why the Olympic rings at the stadium are not coloured but appear black? From there it was back to the city and another 27,000 steps as I went past the Reichstag Building to the Holocaust Memorial which really was a pile of concrete blocks and I couldn't see the relationship. From there it was a train and bus to the Stasi prison at Hohenschonhausen. Did I mention how perfect public transport is? You get off a train and walk to the bus stop and wait 1.5 minutes for the bus to arrive. It would have to be the easiest city in the world to get around. Using my Maps app has made the process a breeze. Anyhow, the prison was chillingly eerie as it's been left as it was since it was closed in 1994 - including the interrogation / torture rooms, padded cells, the "hospital" and the cells. Some of the cells could be filled with water to stop the prisoners sleeping or sitting. Tomorrow I leave Berlin for Flensburg, on the Danish/German border for my last night in Germany.
